TBC Toronto / Broadcasting / In preparation

We build it on air.

TBC is TAGii Broadcasting: the product being made in the open, on YouTube and KICK, with the conversation in the Discord. Nothing has been broadcast yet.

In preparation. Nothing has been broadcast yet, no schedule is published, and the channel link is not here because there is not one to give you yet.

TBC is TAGii Broadcasting.

TAGii is building its product in the open: on air, while it is being made, rather than showing a finished thing afterwards. That means the mistakes are on air too. It is the honest version of a build log, and it is the same work described on the rest of this site, with the screen turned around.

What happens on air.

  • A live build

The work itself, as it happens. Something gets made, and the parts that do not work the first time stay in.

  • Questions, answered on air

Ask while it is running. The answer is given there, not collected for later.

  • Behind the scenes from the venue

From a TAGii event, before and after the room fills. The setup, the people and the night itself.

Where to watch.

Two places, YouTube and KICK, carrying the same broadcast. Neither channel is open yet. Channel link to follow. It will be published here, and in the Discord, on the day it is real. No handle is printed on this page before then, because a handle that turns out to be wrong is worse than no handle.

Where the stream talks.

The conversation happens in the TAGii Discord, which is up and running. It has a channel that says when a broadcast is on and carries the link, and a voice room to watch together.

The Discord is the public lobby, and it is meant to stay that way. Nothing private belongs in it. Nicknames are encouraged, nobody should be asked there for a phone number or an address, and the TAGii bot manages roles only. It does not read what people write.

Ask for the Discord invite

The order this grows in.

One step at a time, and each one has to hold before the next starts.

  1. Go on air consistently

A regular broadcast that people can count on. Everything else waits on this one.

  2. Bring in a second creator

One more person building on air, so it is not one person’s channel.

  3. Community programming

Slots for the hosts and the people who come to the events.

  4. A first full day

One day start to finish, as the test of whether the day holds together.

  5. Repeatable operation

The day run again, without rebuilding it each time.

  6. Around the clock

Last, and only once the step before it is boring.

If you host, you decide what goes on air.

TAGii can feature a host on its channels, including YouTube and TBC, only with that host’s okay, and the okay is given for each piece rather than once for everything. The same applies to anyone who speaks or appears at an event.
